The property does not have air conditioning and it is not necessary.  This is the original adobe construction which has been used in New Mexico for centuries.  The adobe walls keep the casitas cool in the summer and warm in the winter.  The only kind of air conditioning that I could put in these historic buildings would be window units and I refuse to do that as they can be quite noisy and unsightly.   We do have fans available for the summer months if people want to use them.  In addition, in Santa Fe, the nights are about 30 degrees cooler than the days, so we do not have warm summer nights.  We have guests who return every summer and know that the casitas are very comfortable.  I remember a couple from Southern California who stayed with us a few years ago.   They were concerned that there was no air conditioning, but they decided to stay anyway.  They later told me that they were totally comfortable and were very pleased to have stayed in our property.

Recommendations

The casita was lovely and in a super location-just the right distance from the plaza.   We really enjoyed the ambiance here.  Loved having the patio area.  We appreciated all the extra touches, too!

I have stayed in many places in Santa Fe over the last several years and Pena Place has been by far the most comfortable.  The location, amenities, decor, extra touches, cleanliness.....the list goes on and on.  Thank you for a wonderful experience and I hope to be able to stay here every time I am in town!
Susan from Boston

The breakfast makings when we arrived were great-enclosed sitting area was beautiful in the afternoon sun.

Roxanne & Andy:  The casita could not have been cleaner or any more well tended to.  You've done so much to treat your guests well and to not cut corners.  I  look forward to future visits.  All the best.
Jenny from San Francisco

We had a wonderful, restful stay at Peña Place! So nice to have all the amenities of home as well as the privacy!
The location allowed us great walks and getting to know the city from a different view.
One of our best vacations ever! Thank you … we will return!

Loved the well-appointed casita. My husband and I enjoyed drinking a glass of wine each night on the patio.
We made good use of the fireplace, too.
My kids really enjoyed Santa Fe, and particularly the casita.  Thanks for the goodies on our arrival-they really helped us relax!

Roxanne-We have had a lovely week and enjoyed the casita immensely.  This is absolutely the best furnished accommodation we've ever stayed in, without exception.
